366 days of photos week 32

day 215: sun 8/5
was looking at the asian sauces & saw this one.  made me laugh, that's what the hubby calls me.  :o)

day 216: mon 8/6
all snuggled up with violet :)

day 217: tues 8/7
a different pic of the fo i showed last friday.  i wasn't for sure which one i wanted to use for the fo pic, this one didn't make the cut but i like the way it shows everything.

day 218: wed 8/8
my fun crochet item, once again.

look at that sweet face!  love her!!!
a proof of jess' real senior pics.  so grown up!!!  :o)

day 219: thurs 8/9
thought this was so cute, could probably recreate fairly easy.

day 220: fri 8/10
saw this the other day & it made me laugh.  i know some people that were much happier "shacked up" & were together longer that way.  they got married & then they got divorced.  not for sure what changed but i don't see anything wrong with shacking up.  just my personal opinion though.

lil princess with her barbie hair.  :o)

day 221: sat 8/11
took this while all the girls were helping out with q's car wash fundraiser.  we even got hopp to participate.  she was a pretty good wheel/rim scrubber.  :)

after the fundraiser we went home & ate & got ready for q's first salon hair cut.  this is not her first hair cut but her first true salon cut.  she thought she was so big.  the lady did a great job & i think it's quite a bit shorter but what matters is that q is ok with it.  she says she can't tell a difference but i sure can.  we cut about 3-4" of dead hair off the bottom. :o)

well, i hope you all had a great week.

366 days of photos week 31

wow!  can you believe it's already August?!?  crazy!  well the summer is winding up for the girls & everyone is getting anxious to start school.  :o)  here's what last week was like, **shocker**, i have at least one pic for each day!!!

day 208: sun 7/29

we went swimming at one of our local pools & the girls had a blast!  they were hugging in the water in this pic.  they are so lovey-dovey, i love it!!!  :)

i love this pic of q in action jumping in the pool.  it looks like she is flying.  :o)

day 209: mon 7/30
a zombie family.  i love these car decals.  i think i may have jason interested in getting one.

day 210: tue 7/31
i received 2 free products in the mail to review with expo, i love free products.  this one is my hair dye.  i love, love, love, love the color!!!  if i can get a good pic i will change my profile.  if you want to join expo go here.  the only thing i really don't like is that i have to post a video & i'm so stiff!  anyone have any tips to loosen up on camera?

my lil pumpkin has been having breathing issues again due to stupid allergies.  luckily we haven't had to give many this week but last week we were doing 2 per day.  :o(  she is such a good girl though.  she even tells me she needs one.

day 210: wed 8/1

ready for the day!  look how cute they are all dressed up with their hair all purdy.  :o)

this is a house across the street from my MIL, it was needing a huge outside makeover & they finally did it.  they scraped off all the old paint & re-painted it white & the shutters got a hot pink do-over.  it's so cute!  i know, hot pink is usually not a house color but how can you not love this cuteness?!?  look how cute the house #s are.

almost done, worked on the border & it was my wip wednesday.  if i can't get my wip up on the blog you can usually catch it on my crochet fb page here.  come like my page & get all the updates, i'm trying hard to be more active on the page!

day 212: thurs 8/2
breakfast for dinner.  this was my hubby's pancake, gf pancakes with lil smokies!  he loves them in his pancakes, just need to figure out how to get it to not seem undone in the middle.  the juices from the sausages make it a little soggy.  maybe not so many at a time?

day 213: fri 8/3
this is my fo for friday.  it turned out so pretty.  it's a shell stitch blanket with a couple of rows of hdc border with a picot stitch to finish off the border.  i sent it off the other day, she is about to have her baby in a couple of days.  :o)

better pic of the border

my shells, color is a little dark...

that's right!  baby octopus "salad".  ummmm, no thanks!

day 214: sat 8/5
my lil chickens!  so beautiful!  we got to all hang out for a little bit on saturday morning.  i love my chicken time.  :o)

i hope you all have a great rest of the week & i hope i can get an fo up tomorrow.  i have a couple of fo's to share with you guys.  if not come check out my fb page.

day 204: 7/25 wed

this is what it looked like by the time i went to bed.  not much progress but better than no progress huh? :o)

day 205: 7/26 thurs no pics again

day 206: 7/27 fri

don't you love when you get a mistery problem with software?  this is what i texted to my IT guy letting him know i had a problem first thing in the morning.  they are AWESOME & always get my shit working.  :]  like my computer background.  it's kinda dark but it's all my girls.

day 207: sat 7/28

hopp posing with her sonic cup.  it looks huge but i swear it's just a medium!

jess got ahold of my phone & took a self pic.  :o)

not for sure if you can see, but the girls were hanging out at the bottom of the slide, see the feet hanging over the side?  :o)  now if you look to the left, you will see hopp on the other side of the slide, she was pouting because of something silly.  not even for sure what.  she is such a drama queen!  :o)

well that's it for this last week!  have a great one.  i will try to post a wip tomorrow.

finished project!!!

this thing has been in the works for months!  it wasn't complicated at all, in fact, it's something i can usually get done in about 3 days to a week tops!  i've been in a crochet funk for about 3 mths now.  not for sure why i'm in one... i'm really irritated with my funk, i'm ready for it to be over with!!!!  any suggestions on how to get over it?

ok, enough with boring talk...  here it is!

a new blanket for lil miss g!
isn't her bedding gorgeous?!?  her mom made the quilt, the flamingos are fuzzy!  this is one of the cutest baby bedding sets i've ever seen!  i used all the caron simply soft yarns on this blanket.  the pink is watermelon, purple is grape (i believe), the green is lime & i'm not for sure the blue but it's a bright teal/aqua blue.  i'm so glad it matched, i only saw a picture of the bedding once & knew i needed to get that caron yarn!!  :)

this is a pic of mine (right) & one her grandmother made too (left).  crazy, we used the same yarn!!!  isn't that great?!?

well, that's my fof for the week.  check out tami's amis for more amazing finished works of art & also if you are interested in the handmade pay it forward let me know, it would be so much fun!!!

366 days of photos week 3

instead of 366 photos, i'm now calling it 366 days of photos because sometimes a day may need more photos!  :)

so here is week 3 for 2012:

day 15: sunday 1/15/12
after church with nana all dressed up

after taking off church clothes, it was time for some outside play time.  i saw her playing with this giant limb from one of our trees, i asked her if she was playing a cello & showed her a pic of what a cello looked like & she said that was what she was doing.  :)  maybe she will be a concert cello player one day.

day 16: monday 1/16/12
play date at the park.  i didn't get to chat with the moms like i had hoped because my sister came down but i love this pic of my nephew.  he is giving amanda hell & i love it.  she is finally paying for her raising with him.  he is so funny!  yep, that's q in the dirt...  where else would she be?  she loves her dirt!  :)

day 17: tuesday 1/17/12
i need to get a better pic but this is what one of my neighbors did for a different take on how to display your house number.  it's really cute when they have them filled with flowers that are bloomed.

day 18: wednesday 1/18/12
got stuck behind a train at lunch.  thought i would take this for my pic for the day.

a finished baby blanket i did for my husband's aunt, someone at her work is having a bambina so she asked me to make her one.  it's a shell stitch blanket, the usual one i make.

day 19: thursday 1/19/12
my work stamper.  i got this from when i worked at the phone book & i kept it when i moved over to my current job.  this has been a lifesaver on so many occasions when i want to cover my ass.  :)  the example of the stamper is on top of it & it was stamped AUG 10 2005!  i've had this sucker for quite some time.  :o)

day 20: friday 1/20/12
this is my dinero for dawson change jar.  a dear friend of mine has a little boy that turned 2 last august & they found out a couple of months ago that he has high functioning autism.  they are doing the local autism 5k in april & i started up a jar for them.  i think we are going to do a garage sale soon too.  those are always great fundraisers!

day 21: saturday 1/21/12
the morning after q's sleep over we did a couple things with the girls (the pics of the party are to come soon).  all the girls got "tats" on their arms, they loved it & thought they were so grown.  :)  clockwise: q, jess, isabella, katelyn & hopp.  q is holding up a tiny pascal from tangled that was on her cake.

this was a pinterest find, another craft for the morning after, pascal party blowers.  they are the blowers with the design taken off & i cut up foam head shapes & stapled (didn't want to wait for glue to dry) fronts & backs together.  then glued on eyes & "sharpied" on a mouth.  you can find the tutorial here & so many other tangled birthday ideas.  :)

hopp chillin' in my lap with party favors, jess is in the background watching a movie with us all snuggled up with her blanket.

i later went out with some friends from work for roger's (pictured) birthday.  look at this fabulous drink!!!  it's called the fishbowl, as you can see, it's bigger than his head!!!  maria & her sister were sharing it & i couldn't believe it only cost $10!!!  it was pretty tasty, they put a little in my empty rum & coke glass so i could taste it.  not for sure what all is in it, this is what i could remember, blue curacao or whatever it's called, sprite, banana liquor, that's all i remember but it was sweet & fruity.  i think it probably had some pineapple juice in it too.  they should put gummy fish in there.
just in case you were wondering, it was a plastic bowl, i'm sure for drunk-ass safety reasons.  :)

well, that's it for the week in photos.  i actually did pretty good this week since i had a photo for every single day.  :o)

stocking up

i was asked a couple of weeks ago if i wanted to join a group of ladies that get together a couple of times a year & do a booth of crafts & wares during their extravaganzas.  it's not like a trade or peddlers show, its just a group of ladies that either make specialty items like crochet items, tutus & bows and stuff like pampered chef, scentsy & other home party items.  i jumped at the chance!  i'm the only one that does the crochet stuff so there is no competition!  love that.  i don't really have my name out there but a few people locally know me & then i have my non-successful etsy shop.  not ready to shut it down yet just trying to see if maybe by next winter i can get it going some more.  i would love to be wildly successful & make crochet stuff all day long & eventually open a cute little shop where i can consign other friends stuff.  i have lots & lots of crafty friends!

so i have been trying to stock up on my cute little hats, my favorite one comes from my friend betsy from the dainty daisy.  her stuff is super cute & she is the one i donated a couple of my items to get her nephew adopted from ethiopia.  the fundraiser was wildy successful & they made over $2000, their original goal was just $500!  well, i usually make them in a solid color & then try to do a multi-color flower but i got to thinking & have seen some really cute striped hats & thought they would be so cute in alternating colors.  boy, i was totally right this time, they turned out super cute!  the only thing is they are time consuming because you have to tie up all the loose ends from cutting them off after each row but they are so cute & worth the extra effort!  i'm just not for sure on flower choices, i've been having this problem lately, as you will see with my newest try at a pattern i found, since they are two alternated colors do i make a single color of flower or does the two colored flower look best? are there two colors you would like to see together?

pattern courtesy of the dainty daisy
the flower is huge but they are so cute on teeny babies

then i found this really cute pattern for a another beanie from crafty woman creations by brittany.  i just had to try it out.  i had never done a bobble stitch before, it's almost like the popcorn stitch but they seem to more 'bubbly' than the popcorn stitch.  so after a i watched a couple of youtube videos on the bobble stitch i started on it.  it only took me about 3 hours to make the first one, well maybe a little longer, i forgot to keep track of time.  but it turned out really cute.  i like them but they seem plain other than the texture effect of the bobbles, i guess i'm use to making them even cuter in as many ways as possible.  so now my question is, do i add something to this cute little hat or leave it blank?  do i add a flower or a pom pom or maybe even a bow?  i'm scared of bows, i mean, i know how to make a bow, i have girls i have to know how to tie a bow but i just don't know about a pretty bow, like hair bows.  so what do you think?  what should i add if anything?

i would like to really thank betsy & brittany for sharing their beautiful patterns.  betsy's pattern has blessed many of my friend's babies heads & is my best seller next to my bear hat.  brittany's will get it's fair share of gift giving soon.  :o)

i hope all my wonderful friends had a great mother's day out there!

oh yeah, i forgot one more thing, i got finished this last week.  my husband's aunt works in a dr's office & she asked me to make another blanket & hat set for another dr that was getting a new grandbaby, i made one a couple of months ago for another one of her drs.  i snapped a pic of the blanket before i send it on it's way, i love it, it's a beautiful stitch, very intricate but man it's extremely time consuming.  again, it's all worth it in the end because it's stunning!  i couldn't get a pic of the whole thing because it was so big, 2½'x4', so i had to fold it twice to get a nice pic of it.

shell stitch baby blanket, so beautiful!
