i actually have time for an fof!!

OMG!  it's been so busy at work.  it's that time of year where we do our big presentations for our annual tv sales.  i'm just the assistant i don't do the actual selling but there is so much that goes on behind the scenes!  anyway, i met this really sweet girl last year & she was talking about needing a koozie for her soda & i made her one.  she mentioned that she just recently lost the one i made her & wanted another one.  so that's what i did, this time i made her two.  :o)  her favorite color is green so i made her one just like last years but with a picot edging on top, it looks like a princess crown to me, & then one with changing colors & put a shell stitch towards the tops.  i'm going to experiment with a stitch that can possibly work as a hounds tooth, she is a 'bama fan.
i was a bit disappointed with the changing colors one.  when i picked up the ball of yarn at the store it looked like there was more green than the yellow & blue.  she liked both of them.

well i hope all of you are doing well, have a great weekend!  :o)  check out tami's amis for more fof stuffs...

wip wednesday

today i have 2 wips

the first one is a basic black beanie.  i'm making it for a co-worker but for some reason i keep having to add rows, my hat pattern i used is super short, can't figure out what the deal is.  anyways, i need to take out the last for sc rows & add 2 more dc rows & then add in the sc rows again.  geez it's a stupid plain beanie, why can't i get it right?!?  so frustrated on this hat!!!

brian's beanie that's causing all the frustration, on top of that, it's a terrible color to crochet because it's so dark, you really need an extra light when working with black.

 here's the 2nd wip...
this is lilli's hat.  this is before i put the embellishments on...

here is the sneak peek, can you guess what it is?  i'm all finished but the ties on the earflaps so i will post the complete pic on friday.  it's sooooo cute!!!!
well as usual, i hope you have a great rest of the week & don't forget to stop by tami's amis & check out the other wips.  :o)

it's wipw!!!

http://tamisamis.blogspot.com/

as this will be a wip until it's officially done i will post my progress so far.  i'm doing pretty good.  all but 2 of the 44 brights are through the 3rd round.  i ran out of my red so i have to try & find a match for it.  i think it was a discontinued yarn.  :(  i have about 5 brights through round 4 which is my goal before attaching them.  i think the squares are too big for my liking through the 7th or 8th round everyone else is doing.  so here are the pics....

the last 2 brights waiting for more red on the left, one through the 3rd round in the middle & then 3 on the right are finished through to the 4th round.  i can't wait to see them all through the 4th round.  they are so pretty!!

same as the above pic but with the curtain bag storage, as you can see i have another one through round 4 in a different sequence of colors in the bottom left.  these are all the different color variations of the red/yellow/orange/blue in the bright yarns.

just a random pic of all the different rounds in a random shot.  :o)
happy wipw everyone!  check out tami's amis for more wips.

tgifof!!! crochet-along :o)

http://tamisamis.blogspot.com/
it's friday, you know what that means, it's show-n-tell time!!!  yay!!!  i've been working so hard to catch up with the CAL.  i'm only a week behind.  omg, making 88 round 2 circles is NO JOKE!!!

so here is what i should have had done last friday.  now i have to catch up to week 2's goal & also get week 3 going.  it's a bit overwhelming but i know i can do it!!!  :)

now my coloring is better but i think it's because i have the two different shades by each other.  i really, really, really like the bright colors but once i pulled out the darker ones i really like them as well.  what's your favorite color set?
i finally put up my curtains i bought probably a year ago & i thought i could probably use the bags for something & then it dawned on me i could use them for the bright circles.  it works perfect & right now, i could probably use the zipper bag for all 88 circles.  btw, i highly suggest you buying room darkening curtains!  they are totally awesome & really work.  i actually bought a set for one of my windows to try them out & i couldn't believe the difference!  but.... the one problem was i got 2 different sized panels!!!  i'm always doing this, it really pisses me off!!!!  the only good reason for doing that is i had an excuse to buy another set to match the other sizes.  :)  always look for the bright side ladies & gents (if there are any gents out there).  the only bad thing about them now is they have different designs on them.  it's ok though, not many people get the pleasure of checking out my room & my room is dark so you can't really tell anyways.  :)  ok, so back to the subject here are my circle savers.
circles with my storage solutions
man, this is a really big project but i think i'm really going to enjoy the end product!  that's all that matters right?  the man has decided that this is his blanket & that he will share with me.  :)  he keeps asking if i'm going to have it finished in time for winter.  uh yes... we do live in west texas where it's colder later in the winter. :)

i hope everyone is having a fabulous friday & enjoys their weekend!

tgifof!!!

http://tamisamis.blogspot.com/

hi all, i hope this week has been good to you & that the weekend is even better for you!  :)  head on over to tami's ami's to check out all the coolest handmade stuffs!

the first thing i got done this week was a headband.  it was a special request & i must say i will be making more of these.  not only was it really easy but i can think of lots of different options on colors & flowers.  :)
this it "standing" up facing front, like my props?  yarn, hook, junie b jones book....  hehehehe

grey headband with yellow buttons, so CUTE!!!

so then i was asked to make a slouchy for a friend & i found the super cute gumdrop slouchy from gleeful things & it turned out so cute!!!  it's actually kinda reversible because i worked in BLO (back loops only) & so it gave the lined appearance on one side & then if you flip it inside out it looks normal.  :)  i love julie's stuff on gleeful things, check her out.  :)  i love the colors of the yarn but it would have been nicer if redheart made their regular stuff just a teensy bit softer!  the band was made with my fave, hobb lobb's i love this yarn.  :)
BLO side

non-BLO side :)  it would not cooperate so in laying flat this way so i had to fold it to get this pic.

wip wednesday

totally forgot about wipw, shame on me!  i don't really have much of anything that i haven't finished yet but i do have a mug cozy that i finished but i want to make a big sheep applique for it so i guess it's considered a wipw, right?!?!?  :)  so here is the super cute little cozy i have made with the super, super cute little sheep button!  doesn't he look so happy with his little legs in motion?!?  i plan on putting it up on my etsy when finished.  i love love love the aqua/robin egg color.

don't you just love that little guy?!?  the color is off, bad lighting in the house & phone with no flash doesn't help.
Happy WIPW day!!!  :)
