day 133: mon 5/14

i hit the jackpot at heb the other day & got both of these colors of polish for only $1!!!  they are made by wet n wild & are a part of the wild shine collection.  the blue is called blue moon & has the prettiest shade of deep royal with a hint of green in it & the glitter is called kaleidoscope.  it isn't blue but i put 2 layers on top of 1 layer of the blue.  i just did the ring finger in glitter & it turned out so pretty.  yes, claudia, it's my glitter accent nail i talked about on pinterest one day.  :o)

hopp was being such a good girl at the shoe store in the mall that i let her ride one of the cars right outside the shoe store.  :o)  she was the happiest little girl in the world right at that moment, these are the moments that i wanted to record & why i started this blog.  look at that sweet face, could she smile any bigger?!?

it's field day at school, i did her hair in a mini braid & then added the long braid to the big pony.  :o)



look at that stance!  she is getting so big!!!  i think that is her fave shirt, kitty with headphones & it's sparkly.  :)

after field day & then lunch they had their awards ceremony.  she had really cute little awards for each kiddo that was a different candy bar.  q got the "milky way" award.  she loved it & i guess had never had a milky way.  she loved it so much she said she wants a milky way everyday!  yeah right!!!  ;)

q wanted to give everyone a thank you card in her class for being her friend but i came up with friendship bracelets (of course the idea came from pinterest, here's the site for my idea), i will post all of them in week 21 but we started working on them friday evening.  i found an easy 5-strand braid & she caught on really quickly.  this was the first one she did all by herself!

day 138: sat 5/19

after going to a crazy i just happen to see in the paper's listings for a daybed, a wooden one at that, that i have been waiting for, for over a month or two, & it was only $35 for the day bed & the trundle!!!!!  ok, i'm done rambling, we headed to the park.  it was early so it was beautiful with the sun out & the air had a crisp chill to it.  i say perfect morning!  i love this pic of hopp's hair with sunlight caught in it.  what a little angel!!!

q & i finally talked hopp off the swings, it's all she wants to do anymore at the park!  i caught them coming down, i slowed them down just enough to catch this pic, look at the happiness on q's face.  omg, she loves her sisters!!!

and slow enough to catch this one too.  love those cheesy little smiles!!!  yep that's morning hair, didn't even take the time to really fix their hair, but who cares?  not me, saturdays are for fun not fussing with hair!!!  :o)

now that i'm caught up maybe i can get next weeks in time.  :o)  have a great week & 3 day weekend, & don't forget to thank a veteran or active service man/woman for all they have & will be doing for us!!!

day 15: sunday 1/15/12

after church with nana all dressed up

after taking off church clothes, it was time for some outside play time.  i saw her playing with this giant limb from one of our trees, i asked her if she was playing a cello & showed her a pic of what a cello looked like & she said that was what she was doing.  :)  maybe she will be a concert cello player one day.

day 16: monday 1/16/12

play date at the park.  i didn't get to chat with the moms like i had hoped because my sister came down but i love this pic of my nephew.  he is giving amanda hell & i love it.  she is finally paying for her raising with him.  he is so funny!  yep, that's q in the dirt...  where else would she be?  she loves her dirt!  :)

day 17: tuesday 1/17/12

i need to get a better pic but this is what one of my neighbors did for a different take on how to display your house number.  it's really cute when they have them filled with flowers that are bloomed.

day 18: wednesday 1/18/12

got stuck behind a train at lunch.  thought i would take this for my pic for the day. 



a finished baby blanket i did for my husband's aunt, someone at her work is having a bambina so she asked me to make her one.  it's a shell stitch blanket, the usual one i make.



day 19: thursday 1/19/12

my work stamper.  i got this from when i worked at the phone book & i kept it when i moved over to my current job.  this has been a lifesaver on so many occasions when i want to cover my ass.  :)  the example of the stamper is on top of it & it was stamped AUG 10 2005!  i've had this sucker for quite some time.  :o)

day 20: friday 1/20/12

this is my dinero for dawson change jar.  a dear friend of mine has a little boy that turned 2 last august & they found out a couple of months ago that he has high functioning autism.  they are doing the local autism 5k in april & i started up a jar for them.  i think we are going to do a garage sale soon too.  those are always great fundraisers!

day 21: saturday 1/21/12

the morning after q's sleep over we did a couple things with the girls (the pics of the party are to come soon).  all the girls got "tats" on their arms, they loved it & thought they were so grown.  :)  clockwise: q, jess, isabella, katelyn & hopp.  q is holding up a tiny pascal from tangled that was on her cake.

this was a pinterest find, another craft for the morning after, pascal party blowers.  they are the blowers with the design taken off & i cut up foam head shapes & stapled (didn't want to wait for glue to dry) fronts & backs together.  then glued on eyes & "sharpied" on a mouth.  you can find the tutorial here & so many other tangled birthday ideas.  :)

i later went out with some friends from work for roger's (pictured) birthday.  look at this fabulous drink!!!  it's called the fishbowl, as you can see, it's bigger than his head!!!  maria & her sister were sharing it & i couldn't believe it only cost $10!!!  it was pretty tasty, they put a little in my empty rum & coke glass so i could taste it.  not for sure what all is in it, this is what i could remember, blue curacao or whatever it's called, sprite, banana liquor, that's all i remember but it was sweet & fruity.  i think it probably had some pineapple juice in it too.  they should put gummy fish in there. 
just in case you were wondering, it was a plastic bowl, i'm sure for drunk-ass safety reasons.  :)

well, that's it for the week in photos.  i actually did pretty good this week since i had a photo for every single day.  :o)

busy, busy, busy!!!

i'm getting excited for several things...

1.  it's almost time for HAM, yes i said ham.  i dislike turkey so i get excited for the ham.  :o)  i've been craving, no i'm not preggers, salty stuff & ham is right up my alley. 

2. i get off early tomorrow & i have thurs/fri off so i'm super stoked about that. 

3. the craft fair is next WEEKEND!!!!  i'm so nervous but super excited as well.  i'm going to use the extra time off to make & finish a bunch of stuff for the cf.

the creek is dry so we went exploring under the bridge but not too far because it got real muddy & nasty on the other side.  here q is cheesin' with jess.  look how beautiful they are!  i am so blessed with beautiful girls!

funny story about q, while i was pushing hopp on her own swing, q was playing on the playground equipment & i hear, "mommmmmy", i see her hands on the monkey bars but can't see her face or body.  i yell back, "i see you", she says mommy a little louder this time & i say i still see her & then i hear the trouble in her voice.  she starts yelling my name & i can hear she is upset.  i then hear her screaming my name & then the tears, the yelling caught my attention so i moved so i could see her fully & by this time, the screaming & crying started.  i was walking toward her in a semi-fast pace to get to her & was telling her to let go & she was in full-on panic mode.  i was trying not to laugh but it was so cute, i had not seen this emotion on her before & she wasn't in real danger & i was trying to get to her. i kept saying, "just jump, let go qeylee, you are fine", she kept saying, "i can't".  right as i got to her, this only lasted about 10-15 seconds but seemed like minutes, she couldn't hold on any longer & just dropped.  then i was concerned she hurt her wrist because instead of just landing on both feet she landed on all fours.  she was totally fine, no splinters from the mulch, just sore on the palms for holding on so long.  i comforted her & told her not to do it again today.  we then went exploring under the bridge & then left shortly after.  it was time for lunch & then a nap before we headed to a bday party for super cute sadie.  it was nightmare before christmas themed!  so cute!  we had a good time at the party & then went to nana's so i could get some sane time at home to do whatever.  :)  all in all it was a great weekend.

have a great day & hopefully i will have time to post a wip tomorrow.  are you excited as i am about thanksgiving?  oh did i mention my sister & her family are coming down & we are, of course, watching the a&m game that evening with them.  i miss her so & wish we were as close when we were little as we are now.  i really enjoy her now.  :o)

oh yeah, we went & cashed in cans saturday & we had lots of cans & made $7!  thanks to all my gracious friends for helping me show q how you can make money & how we need to save for what we want.  i will have a total soon of what we have currently in the savings jar.  :)

weeknd wrap up

this was a busy but fun weekend.  we went to a 'crazy' & i found a candle holder to make a hat display out of & then we went to big lots, i heard they had a big sale going on because they are moving locations, didn't find much but i did find this dragonfly thingy that i thought i would have to cut it off but after messing with it with my friend christine, we found out that it just UNSCREWED!!!  this will be another hat display.  we are going to do a craft show together.  i'm so excited but super nervous because i've never done one before.

 we went home after the visit with christine & her kiddos & took a nap.  this is how a princess naps, propped up & hands behind your head.  :)

while they were napping i started making these jet packs for the fall fest.  so super easy just takes a little time.  i found them on pinterest but mine are easier & cheaper to make than what she made.  :)

 then it was really quiet yesterday & then we had a tooth pulled & excitement because the tooth fairy is coming!!!  she brought q a dollar & a pack of gum.  :)

i also pinned a buttermilk caramel syrup for pancakes & waffles & made that last night for dinner.  o-m-g!!! it was sooooo good, i would highly suggest you make it.  i don't know what i did wrong but the only thing that didn't work was when i added the baking soda it didn't mix completely so next time i may leave it out.  i wonder why the baking soda is even needed.  anyone have any ideas as to why i would need it?  here's the link.  you should make some ASAP!!!  you won't regret it, well maybe just the calorie content.  :)  oh & the 2 little ones loved it so much they scraped their plates to get every bit of the syrup off the plate into their mouths!  jess thought it was so-so but she is totally wrong!  this syrup is the BOMB!!!!  :o)  i hope you all had a great weekend!!!  see you soon....

a little bit about the weekend & a new gf/low carb recipe

i was pretty much the homemaker on sunday.  i made a batch of spaghetti & a new biscuit crust pizza recipe.  i will use that biscuit recipe for biscuits ONLY!  maybe i will make the pizza again if the girls ask for it but i was really not digging the whole biscuit/pizza thing AT ALL!!!!  i then pulled out my sewing machine & tried it out.  i made one thing, i forgot to get a pic but will post one later, it was a bean bag for the party on friday.  i plan on trying to make one or two more before friday but need to figure out the closing part.

this is what the underside looked like on my test run, i was so frustrated & overwhelmed so i stepped back posted a help on fb & my friend lauren helped me out it was the bobbin.  thanks so much lauren!!!

ta-daaaaa, i fixed the bobbin & this is what it looked like, now just to work on sewing a straight line...

then last night i tried out a new low carb (almost no carb)/gluten free bread recipe.  i have been wanting to try this recipe out for quite a while but i was really intimidated by the recipe.  i'm not a baker, no one but my nana was really a baker but i can decently cook so when it called to whip your egg whites to stiff i was really apprehensive then it said i had to fold the other ingredients into the egg whites!  oh shit!! see why i was timid to trying it out?!?  so i figured i won't know if they are good until i try them out.  i did it!!!  they smelled so good, just like bread & it was totally strange!!!  you see, the only ingredients are cream cheese, eggs & cream of tartar.  it smelled just like REAL bread you buy in the bags.  it was just weird!!!  jason asked if i was making bread & i told him what it was, even he thought it was real bread.  the only problem with the recipe is ME!!!  i don't know what's wrong with me!  i have read the instructions like 20 times, i swear!!!  but did i see the correct amt of cream cheese any of those times? NO?!?!?  i kept seeing 3 pkgs of cream cheese not 3oz!  so i thought to try them out i would use 1 of each ingredient & then i could try them out.  they were really cheesy but weren't bready like i thought they would be.  so i didn't really care for them so i was going to contact the lady that made them & then i saw it, it was only 3oz of cream cheese for the whole recipe.  so that's the problem.  i will be remaking them tonight for lunches the rest of the week.  let me know if you try them out.  just know, it's ONLY 3OZ of cream cheese not 3 full pkgs of cream cheese, i was so thinking, man, that is a lot of cream cheese!  ;)

so without further ado, head over to your lighter side for the oopsie rolls.  i'm dying to try the zucchini & cauliflower pizza crusts, i hear they are very good but again, i'm intimidated!!!  i need to stop it & just make it, right?

this weekend

ugh, i hate this time of year but the end result is really worth it.  i'm talking dittos for kiddos time.  it's washing/ironing/pinning/tagging time.  you can sell any of your good used clothing at their semi-annual clothing consignment.  the worst part is that i wait till the last minute to do all this.  i think i finished it all though.  actually, if i have anything else i'm just going to save it for next time.  :)

ok, now for the weekend update.  we started out going to the park with my friend claudia & her two girls.  they had a blast!  they all play so good together & even jess plays too.  after playing we walked the mile around the park & talked.  i really enjoyed it, i hadn't really talked to her in a long time just one on one & it was really nice.  sorry no pics, was enjoying the company too much.  :)  then we just went home napped & then got up & they played outside for a little longer & then some tv time.  we did squeeze in some hobb lobb time where jess did all the spending, we are making a garter for her homecoming date.

on sunday we didn't do much except for grocery shopping & some crayon making.  i figured i better start on hopp's bday stuff while i was thinking about it because this weekend is going to be super busy.  still not for sure when i'm doing her party but probably next weekend, i have to drop off all the dittos stuff on saturday & not for sure how long that will take, probably more than an hour.  anyways, on to the crayons.  i bought a dino candy mold for crayons & then showed hopp what other molds we had & she wanted every mold we had BUT the dino one so i will be taking that back to hobb lobb.  seriously, this kid cracks me up!  we are doing a dino party for her & she didn't want the dino crayons!  so here are the end results...

i love the birthday hat & the cake is pretty neat too.  was running out of large quantities of the same color so i mixed them up on the birthday set.

this weekend

didn't do much of anything this weekend, which if you have been reading this blog, it's how i like it.  :)  we had a bday party for one of q's classmates at the zoo.  it was in the learning center & all the kids got to touch different animals & it was really neat!  we then went to the fort imagination park next to the zoo after it was over, it was just me, q & hopp, i think some of the partiers went on to the zoo.  i love this playground & if it wasn't so far away from our house i would take them more often.  we did have a minor mishap though.  q was jumping off a little platform to go swing & she didn't realize there was a big silver bar right in her way & hit it really hard on her forehead.  :(  poor baby, i was about to go see what she was doing & then i heard her screaming.  not the i hurt myself scream, it was the 'I REALLY HURT MYSELF' scream.  the one you know is not a cry for attention/drama queen scream.  :)  after i got her calmed down i convinced her to leave & head to nana's house.  it really needed ice because her forehead was starting to bruise & swell just a bit.  :(  she is ok, no major head trauma or er visit was needed but it's still really sensitive to the touch.  we had another party for sunday but the girls were not back from spending the night & going to church with nana so we didn't get to make it.

this is such a cool swing, i would love to have an adult-sized one in the backyard.  q was pushing this time.  i had to tell her to be careful because it didn't have a seat belt on the chair.  q thought she was such a big girl getting to push.
