did mine & hopp's nails in polka dots!  i love that she is at the stage i can get her to stay still long enough to do her nails.  :)

sent a letter to my big brother!  :)  see how i addresed it MR Karina? i love giving him a hard time, it also had junk mail in it as that is what he sent me first.  lil buddy is what my oldest started calling him when she was about 4 or 5, he has never been uncle chad, just lil buddy.  i love it!

q running through the rain, she had a blast & was soaked!!  on a side note, jason & i had our anniversary that day, we have been married for 11 years!  seems only yesterday we said our 'i dos' :)

ok, first things first!

yay!!!  i'm halfway done!  so technically it's not a finished item per say but hell, i got 44 of these bad boys done!!!  it's a lot of changing colors & weaving in ends (which i despise!!!)  they are GORGEOUS in person & i can't wait to start joining them together.  i'm going to join them in black so the brights really pop!  :o)

my slouchy beanie for mrs brown.  :o)  i love the charcoal grey, she is going to look so fabulous on her ireland trip!!!

today i have a hat & a lovey for everyone today.  i made a baby gift for a former co-worker.  she asked me a couple of months ago for a hat & i made her a bonus gift.  :o)

i used bamboo spun, i swear this is the softest yarn!  it's a chunky 4 so it makes for faster blankets. 

i used easy makes me happy, monkey hat pattern for the hat.  this pattern is perfect for all hats & it's really cute if you make the actual monkey hat.  i made the lovey by using ambassador crochets pattern.  i hope you all have a great friday & check out all the other fos at tami's amis.

ok, here they are!  i have 2 fos for you guys today.  a blanket i've put on hold way too many times is finally done & a super-dee-duper fun crochet request.  :)

here it is in all it's glory, well folded glory.  :]  it's a granny stripe blanket with the blue & grey colors for the detroit lions & i finished it off with a plain hdc border.  they love it!  it was a request from a friend of mine that is having her first grandbaby.  :)  it's going to be perfect when it gets cold. 

isn't this super cute?  what is it?...  my friend maria gets these for her kiddos & i mean they are giant!  her youngest couldn't finish it due to his hands freezing so i made him a popsicle holder.  see what i mean by a fun crochet?  :o)  this is one of my instagram photos.  if you would like to follow me my name is stephannis.  :o)

finished project!!!

this thing has been in the works for months!  it wasn't complicated at all, in fact, it's something i can usually get done in about 3 days to a week tops!  i've been in a crochet funk for about 3 mths now.  not for sure why i'm in one... i'm really irritated with my funk, i'm ready for it to be over with!!!!  any suggestions on how to get over it?

ok, enough with boring talk...  here it is!



a new blanket for lil miss g! 

 isn't her bedding gorgeous?!?  her mom made the quilt, the flamingos are fuzzy!  this is one of the cutest baby bedding sets i've ever seen!  i used all the caron simply soft yarns on this blanket.  the pink is watermelon, purple is grape (i believe), the green is lime & i'm not for sure the blue but it's a bright teal/aqua blue.  i'm so glad it matched, i only saw a picture of the bedding once & knew i needed to get that caron yarn!!  :)

this is a pic of mine (right) & one her grandmother made too (left).  crazy, we used the same yarn!!!  isn't that great?!?

so i found this apple jacket pattern from a fellow blogger (sarah makes some of the most beautiful stuff & i'm really jealous that she can knit & crochet!) that is so absolutely super easy & so super cute!  so here are some that i have made.

i call them apple cozies.  aren't they adorable?!?

i actually had a friend request 5 of them from me so i have 2 more to make.  she is going to give them to the ladies in her group that are trying to eat better.  :o)  they are on the small size so i may venture out & try to make some big enough for the big red delicious kind.

no week in hair this week, it's been all headbands lately.  :o)

ok, i finally got a pic of the cowl/infinity scarf i finished for q's teacher, ms williams. 

you can wear it two ways, doubled up around the neck or down with the twist.  i sewed the ends together so that there is a twist in the scarf.  i do have to say the green is really pretty with the finished product.  i hope she enjoys it.  :)

i finished the cowl for her teacher but i forgot to have q model it but here it is

kitcher was caught crocheting next to the cowl.  :o)  he was working on his chain skills.  hopp thought it was the funniest thing that he was yarnin'!  sorry it's so dark, i will have q put it on & get a better pic later.  :) 

sorry so bad with my fof pics.  this was a hat i made a couple weeks back that i hadn't shared yet.  it's for carissa, i'm waiting on a pretty pic from her.  she wanted a zebra-ish hat, i found this pretty pattern so i bought it just for her.  it was pretty easy, i may make some more.  :)

now on to some christmas decorations...

here they are, electric sex in all it's glory on the tree!  :)  every time i look at them they make me smile.  this is all i have on the tree right now.  tonight we should have most of the ornaments up & maybe even the train.

now to catch up on the hair updates.  i had too many weeks to show so i didn't post any of the only headband days so i don't have many to show...

11.29.11 i did the twisted bangs on me & i liked it so much i did it with q's hair.  she doesn't have bangs but you can do it with any length of hair.  i found the video on pinterest & it's really easy but i have yet to conquer the bobby pin.  i just can't get them right & then get the other hair to cover it up.  it looked so cute on q with her side ponies.  :o)

12.01.11 i told her she had to do something different than just the headband so she said one pony to the side

12.02.11 i still love putting bows in her hair.

12.05.11 this is her christmas school shirt.  she is such a skinny mini and the shirt was long enough she had on leggings & black boots, i should have turned my camera so you could have seen the whole outfit.  i did a little ringlet on the opposite side of the pony & then topped the pony with a red bow with white polka dots.  :)

12.09.11 daddy did hair today & she actually asked for this!  i was in shock.  she looked like a little sumo wrestler.  :o) she also pulled out her necklace & bracelet she got from maria on her birthday.  my girls are so girly!  i LOVE it!  i'm not girly girly but i like it & so i'm glad that my girls are.  :o)

wednesday, hopper told me, "i look so cute!"  yes, my little pumpkin, you sure are!

friday

math game fun night, last night q's school had a little family fun night but i just took her so it could be me & her time.  she loved it but i do have to say that some of it was far too advanced for a little kindergartener but she tried really hard on what she didn't know.  i was so proud of her.

this was the penny flip game where you count how many times it lands on heads & how many time on tails.  she flipped 10 pennies & got even numbered heads/tails.

this was not easy, even for me!  you put the shapes in the main shape to make whatever animal.  with of help from the instructor she got it done.  :)

this was math war, you flip a card over & add the two, whoever guesses the right # first gets the cards.  let me just say this boy was a GREAT sport!  he was so patient & sweet & waited for her to get the #s added up.  he gave her a few of them.  :o)

this was the computer math station.  she was having a blast & so we jotted down the addresses, if you would like the free math game web sites let me know, i will give them to you.  i think this was her fave one.

banana shorts!  ok a little back story.  we do an annual presentation every year where they try to get new clients to sign up for an annual contract for tv commercial sales.  our manager was saying you need to work on your database for clients you want to invite this weekend, blah blah blah, & then he says, "even if you need to put on your banana shorts at home" we lost it, that was about 2-3 yrs ago!  we have been trying to find banana boxers or some type of banana shorts then i thought of this idea, duh!!!  so we got "banana shorts" a birthday cake....

how freakin' hilarious is that!!!!

i was a bit of a loss as to what was wrong with the lady that i ordered the cake from.  when i told her what i wanted (over the phone) & was giggling about it, she never once laughed or anything!  i couldn't figure out why she had no sense of humor, how could someone ask for banana shorts & you not even crack a grin, you can hear that in someone's voice on the phone!  anywho, i hope you all have a great weekend & don't forget to head to tami's amis for all the great finished stuffs.  :)

hair and my fo for the week

here is my fo for this friday, it's the baby owl hat i've been working on for that sweet new baby that's coming in this world today or tomorrow.  i hope jennie has a smooth & easy labor.  :)

here is the hair for the week, i bought new headbands this weekend so that means lots of headbands.  i promise i keep asking if they want something else & they mostly say headband.

tuesday, i had 2 pics & one was looking at me the other was looking away & in each one it was a different kid looking at me, since i don't have a lot of hopp looking at me i chose this one.  :)  that look is of longing thoughts huh?

thursday, i love the high pony look with a bow, she specifically told me to do it high.  :)

friday, not much new but they are still so cute!!!  :)
